Lodge Cast Iron

Lodge Cast Iron

How excited were you to open your CrateChef box and find a cast iron skillet?? We were thrilled when Brad Leone suggested including a skillet in his box and even more excited when Lodge Cast Iron partnered with us to bring our subscribers their 6.5" skillet!

Lodge cast iron skillets are the ideal kitchen tool and should be a staple in your kitchen. They can be used for everything from sauteing, searing, simmering, braising, baking, roasting and frying. Not only are cast iron skillets great for indoor cooking on the stovetop, as many would traditionally think a skillet would be used, but they are also safe for oven use, on the grill and even over a campfire. Perfect for any summer trips you have planned!

Lodge skillets are pre-seasoned which means they are ready for use right out of the box. The skillets are coated in oil that has been baked and deeply penetrated into the pores of the cookware giving meals and side dishes an amazing flavor. The 6.5" skillet is perfect for cooking up burgers, 2 fried eggs on mornings when you need a quick breakfast as well as single serving desserts such as cookie skillets. Yes, your own individual cookie skillet! Check out the recipe below :)

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  3. Transfer the dough to four 6.5” cast iron skillets or one 10-inch cast-iron skillet. Spread evenly and smooth the top.
  4. Bake 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown and just set in the center. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
