Peanut Butter's Tough Competition

Peanut Butter's Tough Competition

If you know or follow Samah Dada–our June/July CrateChef featured chef–she’s likely piqued your interest surrounding the wonderful world of nut butter. Specifically, the Ground Up’s Chunky Almond, Cashew and Coconut Nut Butter.

Simple, salty, and naturally sweet. This nut butter is made from a blend of almonds, cashew and coconut, which is then infused with vanilla and sea salt and finished off with chunks of the eponymous nuts for that delicious, crunchy texture. Unsweetened, vegan, Whole30-friendly. Utterly delicious and naturally nutritious.

So, what’s the deal with nut butter anyway? Well, while peanut butter has been the gateway spread for ages, it’s off the table for many because of allergies or abstruse preservatives. Nut butter hit the scene as the solution. And with companies like Ground Up, we trust that they have the purest intentions.

To start, substitute Chunky Almond Cashew and Coconut Butter in anything that calls for peanut butter. Say, a dip for fuit like apples, bananas, or even–Samah’s favorite–dates. Or a dollop in breakfast yogurt or oatmeal. For the savory folks out there, we recommend exploring its use in Nut Butter Noodles, Chicken Saté Lettuce Wraps, and Nut Butter Chili. It just might give peanut butter a run for its money.

You can never have enough inventive spreads in your pantry. And we know you’ll love this one. Happy cooking!
