When Chef Coombs suggested including a popover pan with his exclusive popover recipe in the box, we were thrilled. A popover pan in a subscription box? Who does that? We do. We strive to make each box unique for our subscribers and the popover idea was perfect for our holiday box.
Popovers are simple to make but the results are oooh and ahhh worthy! The eggy batter plumps up in the oven creating a crispy golden brown exterior with a soft buttery interior. Chef Coombs adds a touch of fresh thyme to the batter further elevating this little roll to star status.
Christmas in Connecticut with my large family always included popovers either for breakfast or with dinner as an accompaniment to beef tenderloin expertly prepared by my Mom.
