Supermensch
My husband John reached out to Shep Gordon a few months ago about CrateChef after hearing him interviewed on Mark Maron's podcast and watching the documentary "Supermensch - The Legend of Shep Gordon". If you are not familiar with Shep Gordon, he has managed a long list of musicians, entertainers and, most notably for us, Chefs such as Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse. His experiences in the entertainment industry are fascinating. He is also known for being a person of integrity hence the Yiddish nickname mensch. When John heard back from Shep, he mentioned that he had just spent time with John Tesar our current Chef. Coincidence? Maybe. Small world, for sure.
We were able to speak with Shep today about CrateChef and business in general. I'm continually surprised by the journey Rebekah and I are on with CrateChef. When we decided to form a partnership and commit to building this subscription box business, I never would have imagined that we would have the opportunity to talk with someone with Shep's experience and knowledge.
What or who will tomorrow bring? Who knows? But we're ready to rise above all the noise.
